Ice skating might be just what you need to feel like you’re actually experiencing a winter in Houston! Houstonians often wait for the cold weather. If you’re itching for some winter activities check out one of the ice skating spots in Houston.

Returning once again for the 2022 holiday season, this pop-up outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Houston continues to be one of locals’ favorite ways to celebrate the holidays. The rink will be open until the end of January, and tickets must be purchased ahead for a specific time slot. The rink also has special events like Skating With the Stars on Tuesdays and Clutch City Wednesdays. 

Tickets are $15 with a skate rental included and only $8 on Cheap Skate Mondays.

Another pop-up ice skating rink in Houston that is just in town for the holidays is the Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center. This rink offers a state-of-the-art sound system and space for parties. They encourage booking in advance online through their website to ensure availability at your preferred time. This indoor ice skating rink in the Woodlands will be running until January 17th this year.

Ticket prices with skate rental are $15 for ages six up and $6 for five and under or $12.50 if you have your own. They also have special pricing for large groups as well as walker and helmet rentals for $10 each.

If you’ve been shopping at this epic Houston mall, then you’ve likely stopped to watch the novices and the pros at the Galleria ice skating rink. Now, it’s time for your turn! During the holiday season, you’ll be skating around the huge Christmas tree that goes up every year. 

Admission prices are all-inclusive, costing $23 for six and over and $21 for five and under.

This Houston ice skating rink is located inside the Memorial City mall and offers both public skating as well as lessons and space for parties. You can find their schedule online, which will let you know what hours are open to the public that day. Public skate hours typically fall somewhere between 11 am and 9 pm. They also offer an ice skating academy on Tuesdays and Saturdays where you can learn the basics. 

Entrance fees at Ice Skate Memorial City are $10 each plus an additional $5 for skate rental. If you’re skating with little ones, they offer skate aids at $10 an hour.

For those located in Northwest Houston, Aerodrome might be the best ice skating place in Houston for you. This spot is an excellent place for learning to skate, mastering figure skating, or joining an ice hockey team. There are plenty of different programs for both adults and kids. They also offer public skating and skate rentals. At night, they lower the lights and offer music ranging from country to jazz, making it a great Houston ice skating rink for date night.

Admission here is $10 per person or $8 for Aerodrome program members. Skate and walker rentals are $5 each. They also offer group pricing.

If you’re looking to up your ice skating skills, Sugar Land Ice is the perfect ice skating rink in Houston for you. Not only do they offer weekly introductory classes, but also multiple levels so you will find the right skill-level class for you. You’ll find private lessons, figure skating, and hockey here as well. Student skaters even put on a holiday show of the Nutcracker every year!

Public skating is available as well for a $12 admission, but be sure to check their website for the most up-to-date schedule. 

While the rest of the Houston ice skating rinks on our list are great for both the public and those with more experience, Bellerive Ice Center is open only to members of the National Hockey Association, figure skaters, and their coaches who are looking for a more private place to practice. It is also home to the Curling Club of Houston. Hockey players and figure skaters looking for a place to practice amongst others who take the sports seriously will feel right at home here.
