The classic bicycle casquette has been modernized

This game is now over

Australian cycling equipment brand MAAP collaborated with the American fashion city hat New Era to "reimagine" cycling hats.

Stealth Performance Cap is designed for the hottest riding conditions, and the two brands claim to use "cutting-edge technology" to redesign the ubiquitous riding cap.

It is priced at 35 Euros/50 AUD. It offers three designs and uses breathable and sweat-absorbent fabrics, with laser-cut perforations to promote air flow, and an internal anti-sweat band to prevent sweat from flowing to places where it should not be run.

The seams of the new hat are comfortable-we assume to avoid scratches-and the reflective graphics are designed to improve visibility.

Of course, most riders wearing riding caps will ride under the helmet, so how effective this might be is controversial.

MAAP Creative Director Misha Glisovic said: "Design and performance have always been our top considerations when creating our products. Working with such an iconic headwear manufacturer to develop hats tailored for cyclists from the ground up. This is a very exciting new chapter for our brand."

The classic bicycle casquette (this is the "hat" in French, as we know it, the use of loanwords is more authentic) is an iconic item of bicycle fashion, and is sometimes used as a sign under the bicycle to indicate that someone belongs to a cyclist .

Some riders swear to be rain or shine, while others cannot understand wearing a hat under the helmet.
