The first prototype of Triumph has just been discovered, and in this intact condition, you will rarely find something so special.

According to an article by Motoroids, Triumph’s first prototype was “quoted in advertisements and reviews that have existed for a long time and appeared in 1901... This first Triumph prototype was developed by a standard Triumph bicycle. The engine is supplied by the Belgian manufacturer Minerva."

According to an article in CycleWorld, the prototype also has a specific purpose-"to generate publicity to see if the general public may be interested in buying these "motorcycle" things".

We seem to be interested-so after being restored by leading vintage Triumph motorcycle collector Dick Shepherd, the British motorcycle manufacturer placed the prototype in the Hinckley Museum.

"A collector's friend (who recently passed away unfortunately) contacted a collector's friend to evaluate an old Triumph. I was very excited to discover that their bicycle had unique details, which were in the first batch of production. Not in Triumphs," explained the shepherd.

"In addition to bicycles, the collector also received a letter from Triumph, dated 1937, which outlines the unique origins of the bicycle and provides key details. The engine number corresponds to the engine record of Minerva’s first Triumph battle in 1901. The references are consistent, and the historical significance of this motorcycle has become extremely clear."

“As a lifelong fanatic fan of the history and achievements of this incredible British brand, being able to discover this amazing survivor and restore it to its glorious state when it was first exhibited in 1901 has given me a lot of satisfaction,” Shepherd Finished.

Oh-that's not all.

Triumph will also make us happy to see the old machine running again. On December 14th, we were told that the prototype "will first be shown in a live motorcycle show in the UK... [and] will be shown in a special event to visit the Kaixuan factory."

There, someone would ride an old-fashioned beast and run with it for the "first time in more than a century".
